Dentists

Jessica Smith DMD

Dr SmithJessica Smith DMD graduated from the Messalonskee school system and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and chemistry from the University of Maine at Farmington. She went on to earn an associate's degree in dental hygiene from the University of Maine at Augusta. When the University of New England opened its College of Dental Medicine in Portland, Dr. Smith was accepted and graduated with the school’s second graduating class, in 2018.

Dr. Smith became clinical director and full-time dentist at Waterville Community Dental Center upon graduation. She has been a critical part of the Center's recent growth and development, and she enjoys working closely with her hometown community.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Smith likes to spend time outdoors: in her gardens, hiking, snowshoeing, swimming, or just soaking in the sun. She spoils her dog and cats and helps to raise chickens. She cherishes time with family and friends and also time spent in reflection.

Kailee Williams DMD

Dr WilliamsKailee Williams DMD is originally from upstate New York and attended Hamilton College for her undergraduate degree. She worked in Washington, D.C., as an orthodontic assistant for two years prior to attending the University of New England College of Dental Medicine.

Patient-centered care and public health are two of Dr. Williams's passions , and she strives to bring her passion into her practice every day.  Dr. Williams believes in comprehensive dental care and enjoys helping patients achieve healthy and beautiful smiles.

In her free time she enjoys reading, camping, crafting, singing, and a good Netflix binge with her cat, Vivian.

Marc Melnick DDS

Dr MelnickAfter more than 40 years of providing high-quality dental care to patients in New Jersey, Marc Melnick DDS has chosen to offer the same great care to patients in Central Maine. Dr. Melnick earned his dental degree at the NYU College of Dentistry and is an assistant clinical professor at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He practices at the Waterville Community Dental Center one week a month and feels fortunate to be able to provide care for patients while working with a fantastic staff.

He enjoys the great state of Maine, skiing in the winter and eating lobster rolls in the summer. His wife is a psychologist, and he has two children, one in New York and one in California.

 

Hygienists

Hope

HopeHope is a caring, compassionate, experienced registered dental hygienist who has worked at the Waterville Community Dental Center since 2001.  A lifelong resident of Central Maine and a graduate of Fones School of Dental Hygiene at the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Connecticut, she enjoys the bonds that she makes with  patients over her years of providing preventive dental treatment.

Hope enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and going camping up north. During Maine's “Fair Season,” she can be found at various State of Maine Agricultural Fairs, usually in the livestock departments.       

Theresa

TheresaTheresa has been a dental hygienist since 2004 and has practiced at the Waterville Community Dental Center since 2011. She earned an associate's degree in applied science in dental hygiene at Monroe Community College in Rochester New York. She lives in Oakland with her 9-year-old daughter, and in her spare time she and her daughter like to craft.

 

Erica

EricaErica grew up in Lewiston, ME. She graduated from high school in 2004 and then pursued a dental hygiene degree at the University of New England.  Since graduation in  2007,  Erica has practiced in Maine and Colorado.  She holds a license to administer local anesthesia. 

In addition to her dental hygiene training, Erica has worked as an orthodontic assistant and a surgical assistant. She currently works as a full-time hygienist at the Waterville Community Dental Center and as a part-time surgical assistant for an area oral surgeon.

Outside of work, Erica enjoys going to camp and spending time on her boat. She spends her time running, doing yoga, kayaking, and going to the gym. Erica has three rescue cats that she loves dearly.

 

Dental Assistants

Courtney

CourtneyCourtney is the Community Dental Center's lead dental assistant. She has been a Certified Dental Assistant since 2011, and she is now also a licensed Expanded Function Dental Assistant, having taken specialized training to provide some direct-care services under the dentists’ supervision. This allows the Center's dentists to work more efficiently and improves patients' access to services.

Outside of the office she enjoys spending time with her husband, stepson, daughter, and her dog and two cats. She loves to spend weekends at camp, hunting and fishing.

Roxanna, Assistant and Reception

RoxannaRoxanna has been with the Waterville Community Dental Center as a dental assistant since 2017, helping the doctors create and maintain patients' beautiful smiles. Aside from assisting, she also helps reception with insurance and scheduling.

Roxanna is enrolled in the University of Maine at Augusta's dental hygiene program and expects to graduate in 2022. In her free time, she enjoys shopping and spending time with her husband and their two dogs, Kiwi and Diesel.

Katelyn

KatelynKatelyn started working as a dental assistant at the Community Dental Center in June 2019. She loves the dental field because she enjoys working one-on-one with patients, helping to make their experience as enjoyable as possible. In a previous job at a rehabilitation department she worked with adults and special-needs children.

She enjoys spending time with family and friends, and she  loves the outdoors and spending time at her camp.

Front Office Staff

Jessica Pelotte, Executive Director

JessJessica Pelotte started at Waterville Community Dental Center in 2012 as a receptionist. In her current role as executive director, she oversees the general operations of the Center. She is committed to making every experience at the practice a positive one for patients and their families, striving to meet their unique needs.

Outside of the office, she enjoys being active: boating, snowshoeing, walking, traveling, and shopping. She lives with her husband, her stepson, the family's two dogs, Griffin and Keely, and their cat, Bella.

Loretta, Office Manager

LorettaLoretta had eight years of experience as a dental assistant and licensed dental radiographer when she joined the team at Waterville Community Dental Center in 2017.  She recently transitioned to the position of office manager.  She is  proud of her new role helping the office run smoothly. She enjoys meeting new patients and helping them in any way possible.

Loretta enjoys spending spare time with her husband, their two daughters, and their two German Shepherds, Loki and Lilly. She also loves reading in her hammock, going for walks with the dogs, and learning new things.

Brittany, Insurance Coordinator

BrittanyBrittany began her career in office administration in the spring of 2018. She specializes in assisting patients and families with their insurance and billing information, explaining benefit details and inspecting and following up on submitted insurance claims. Brittany's goal is to improve the quality and accuracy of what goes on behind the scenes.

Outside the office she enjoys spending time with her two children, being outside, drawing, and meeting new people.

Glenda, Reception and Dental Assistant

GlendaGlenda worked for years in food service at assisted living facilities and then as a residential counselor for 10 years.  Because of her interest in dentistry and a desire to challenge herself with something completely different, she took dental assistant training at Helping Hands. She received her radiographer license and worked for two years as a dental assistant.  She did some of her clinicals at Waterville Community Dental Center and feels she has come full circle to work here.

In her spare time she enjoys cooking, doing crafts, and spending time with her husband and two kitties.
